We bought this mosquito trap which used these octenol cartridges(mosquito attractant).br /I was constantly amazed at how effective the trap is. I was cleaning the machine twice a week so that it did not get too plugged. br /We enjoyed a summer on our deck without mosquitoes.br /I did follow the trap placement recommendations in the directions, which I am sure is crucial.br /Anyway: Before the trap with attractant(early summer) we were being chased indoors from mosquitoes. After the trap, after a couple of weeks, I did not see any more mosquitoes.br /I definitely recommend it if you live in the Sierra Nevada. It worked well for me at 4500 feet elevation level.

Simply put the product doesn't seem to attract Mosquito's. Although it does seem to attract other annoying bugs like yellow jackets, but bones or meat work better for that.br /br /I won't be buying anymore of these they are over priced for the results. br /br /I really can't seem to find a product that will get rid of these pesky things!

Was led to believe I was getting an actual Stinger bulb. I was sent a generic replacement. It only lasted a few weeks. When I tried to remove it the bulb disattached and left the connector in the light fixture.

These CO2 cartridges are for routine maintenance of the Mosquito Magnet. I use them as the instructions advise. I've used our Mosquito Magnet every summer for four years and it works great. You MUST position the MM correctly, however. If you don't, it doesn't work.br /You have to actually READ and FOLLOW the instructions -- odd idea, I guess.

I bought a spare 'cause it was on sale when I originally bought the mosquito magnet.br /br /The original is fairly sturdy and well made. After 3 seasons I have yet to need it. Unless you're a klutz and think you'll step on it or something you can simply rinse / wash out the original one and keep using it.br /br /That said, I use mine to swap out the full one for zero down time - especially when it's full of angry live biting mosquitoes....

This pole is as described. The one flaw is that it has a theft proof feature that requires loosening a nut to release the bug light. I'm concerned that over time, it will rust, making removal of the light difficult. This part should be stainless steel. Other than that, it does the job. I ran the wire up through the pipe for a neater appearance. This required cutting the plug off and reinstalling. This was a minor inconvenience for a more finished look.

Questionable stability at maximum height - F. Galiber - Washington, DC
I'm using the FlowTron SP-200 Security Lantern Pole to hold my FlowTron-40 bug zapper. It was a little difficult to get the first piece 2 feet into my backyard soil because its mostly clay after about 1 foot. After connecting all of the pole pieces and the FlowTron-40, I found the lantern pole to be somewhat unstable. I removed one of the pieces so that it stands at about 6-7 feet and it works just fine.

Our home is surrounded by woods; for years, the deck was unusable from dusk on, unless you fogged an hour earlier (and who wants to breath that stuff?). The Mosquito Magnet has solved the problem; ours is three seasons old, with no problems. Interestingly, this was not a bad year for mosquitos, but the unit works just as well for no-seeums, capturing literally hundreds of them. A propane tank and an attractrant cartridge each last about three weeks; when the propane runs out, I know it is time to replace the cartridge. I figure that for about 0 a seummer, we can have a deck to enjoy. It really is a teriffic product.
